The Consumer Price Index in Texas has steadily increased year by year, and has experienced several years of growth in 2021. According to the definition of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, CPI is the average change in the prices of consumer goods and services over time since the early 1980s, when the CPI was set at 100.
For restaurant owner Rob Snow, it is common for him to see empty shelves in the local grocery store. Snow owns two locally sourced restaurants called Greenhouse Craft Food, located in Round Rock and Taylor. He said finding food and supplies for his two restaurants has become increasingly difficult. "I have never walked the aisle of a grocery store, and the whole area will be empty," Snow said. "It's weird to see this. Potential Amazon facilities cause a sensation in RoundRock
The company purchased the land on October 29, and city documents indicate that the company submitted an application on October 22, requesting a zoning change for the development of the planning unit of the property. Officials approve the expansion of the Old Settlers Avenue
Design; lighting; environmental documentation; utility improvement; public participation; geotechnical survey and measurement in the project bidding process. If deemed necessary, the contract includes options for construction services. The Old Settlers expansion is part of the city’s 2017 traffic master plan. After completion, it will be a four-lane urban road designed to increase the mobility of the area.
The City Council approved a supplementary contract with Aguirre & Fields LP to provide engineering services, plans, specifications and estimates, and supporting documents for the Old Settlers Boulevard expansion project in Round Rock. The expansion project will extend from North Red Bud Lane to CR 110. The contract includes the necessary transitions to accommodate the city’s traffic control plan and other miscellaneous work.
Round Rock Northbound I-35 Waterline
Officials approved an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation on October 28 to extend the northbound frontage highway along I-35 from Greenlawn Avenue to SH 45 N. On October 28, the Round Rock City Council approved the engineering contract for the College Park Drive project for the improvement of College Park Drive. The project will create a 700-foot-long four-lane sub-lane, southbound
Round Rock, Williamson County, and the Texas Department of Transportation collaborated on an overhaul project to improve the RM620 from Deep Wood Drive to I-35. Construction began in February 2020 and is expected to be completed in mid-2023. The project will add street lanes on both sides of RM 620 and build a bridge over the railway crossing of Chisholm Trail Road. It will also add a roundabout under the bridge. To help maintain commercial and residential space in the area, a passageway will be built between Lake Creek Drive and Chisholm Trail. As part of the project, the eastbound frontage highway is expected to be opened in mid-2022. The ROUND ROCK ISD administrator shared information about plans to update the district’s face-to-face learning strategy in the spring of 2022 at the school board meeting on November 18. The school district announced its intention to resume full face-to-face learning earlier this month. Teaching director Ryan Smith introduced to the board of directors, outlining the next steps before full in-person attendance for the first semester without virtual students since spring 2020.
